In May of 2023, we visited the Anglican Church of Kenya in an area in the southwestern part of Kenya. We were warmly received and celebrated in a worship service in one of the areas where the diocese hoped to drill a borehole.

The next day we were taken to a second site where there was an existing well, but one that needed to be repaired. As soon as we drove onto this property, which housed a number of schools with over 450 students, we both felt that the Lord was saying that this was the place where we should invest. It was a feeling we did not experience in the first location. As we shared with the ministry staff there, they were delighted to hear how we felt the Lord was leading.

Before we left this location, we were “inducted” as honorary members into the Maasai tribe, given various pieces of Maasai jewelry and given new names – Celine’s Maasai name is Nashiepie, which means Joy, and Jerry’s Maasai name is Lemunyak, which means furtunate or favored. Needless to say, we were honored

We left our new friends with a sense of great joy!!
