Our Mission

Our mission is to help finance projects, such as drilling wells, providing medical services and other activities that will provide both natural and spiritual water to those in need.

How It All Began

In February 2011, I had the opportunity and privilege of visiting St. Nicolas Orphanage, a children’s home near Nairobi, Kenya. During the course of the time I spent with the children there, I learned of a serious, long-standing drought in the northwestern area of Kenya. Individuals familiar with that area described the extreme conditions there, which resulted in a shortage of food and potable water. This led to the deaths of many people as well as livestock, which is so critical to the survival of many of them who are dependent on lifestock for their livelihood.

The little amount of water that was available was from streams and rivers which are heavily infested with various pathogens, parasites, and typhoid-carrying mosquitoes, all of which contribute significantly to disease and the deaths of men, women, and children. As I heard the reports of the tragic conditions in northwest Kenya, my heart was moved with sorrow and compassion for the people there. I felt moved to try to help those who were doing what they could to alleviate the shortages and suffering in Kenya, as well as in South Sudan, Kenya’s northern neighbor, which was experiencing the same austere conditions.

Upon my return to the United States, I felt led to change my focus with respect to my painting. I decided to dedicate my talents and efforts to help to meet both the physical and spiritual needs of those who were suffering. Consequently, I decided that all revenues from the sale of any art products represented on Creative-Reflections.org would be used both to finance wells and to send, to affected areas indigenous African pastors who were waiting to bring spiritual counsel and guidance to those who are longing for it.

While this may represent only a small amount of money initially, it is my hope and prayer that Kenya and neighboring countries will ultimately benefit from the clean water that these wells will provide, as well as the spiritual encouragement the people are seeking.
