In May of 2023, we visited a diocese of Anglican Church of Kenya in the northern part of Kenya. We were taken to two places where the diocese wished to drill a well. One spot was in an area where the diocese was operating a school. A geologist / hydrologist accompanied us and mapped out the best location to drill. The area, however, was at a fairly high elevation, which raised concerns about the depth to which they would have to drill to reach water.
The second location was in the middle of the nearby town where the diocese owned property where they planned to construct a building that they could lease to local businesses. An advantage of this location was that it was at a lower elevation.
After returning to the U.S., we wired money to the diocese to fund the drilling of a borehole.
When the borehole in the first location had been drilled, we were somewhat disappointed with the yield, but it was sufficient to provide water needed for the nearby school.
The Diocese decided they wished to also drill in the second location in the nearby town. After prayer, we felt led to send some funds for that borehole as well, which resulted in a much greater flow of water in that area.
